History of the Old Order River Brethren

About the Author: Laban Brechbill the son of Samuel and Fannie Siegrist Brechbill was born February 1892 in Hamilton Township, Franklin County, PA.  His grandfather Tobias Siegrist was a bishop in the Lancaster County branch of the Old Order River Brethren.  His family moved to the Buck in Lancaster County in 1900 where he received his education at the North Star School.

Laban was converted to Christianity early in life, but for a number of years was inactive in his Christian profession.  During the 1930s he once again renewed his vows and was united with the Old Order River Brethren Church in 1941.
