Wind Chime: Sea Breeze

Delicate slices of capiz make for a gentle chime. The Sea Breeze Wind Chime is handcrafted by artisans working with our fair trade partner SAFFY, Inc in the Philippines. Artisans wash and soak the thin shells before cutting them into shape and edging them with wire in a labor‒intensive process. Before glass windows became available in the Philippines, capiz was used for windows in houses.

• Bamboo tube: 11.75L x 0.75D inches; Length of hanging string: 17.25L; The first and fourth vertical rows of capiz disks: approximately 20.75 inches from bamboo tube to the last capiz in those rows; The second and third vertical rows of capiz disks: approximately 22 inches from bamboo tube to the last capiz in those rows; The middle, vertical row of capiz disks measures approximately 23.5L inches from bamboo tube to last capiz in that row
