Christian Alsdorff (ca.1760-ca. 1838), a schoolmaster and fraktur artist known also as the Earl Township artist, made this elaborate title page for the little copybook of Anna Groff, "schoolgirl in the Earl School, March 9, 1792."

Anna Groff was the Anna (b. 1780) who was a daughter of Marcus and Feronica (Myer) Groff of West Earl Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and a great granddaughter of Hans Groff, Groffdale Immigrant.
