John Metzler (1828-1921) received this farewell bird, attributed to Jacob Nolt, on June 26, 1837.  He later married Mary Ann Burkholder and lived in West Earl Township area of Lancaster County, Pa.  He was a member of the Metzler Mennonite Church.
