Palette: Wood & Leather Paint Palette

Palette: Wood & Leather Paint Palette

  • $65.00

Inspired by the Frakturs in the Mennonite Life collection, we created a unique wooden paint palette for your use and enjoyment. Frakturs were traditionally painted in watercolors and India ink. Our palette has been designed to hold your watercolors in a beautiful and useful way.

This wooden palette is hand crafted from cherry wood by local craftsman, Jack Stone, (Jack the Cooper). The leather cover is made by Urban Southern, a company that traces its roots to Smucker Harness, an Amish company that has been producing fine leatherwork in Lancaster County for many years.

It is ready for you to put your own paints into the six wells provided. It is suitable for watercolor or gouache tubed paint.

  • The new Mennonite Life logo is embossed on the chestnut colored leather.
  • The palette measures: 5" w x 2 3/4" h x 3/4" d
  • Made of cherry wood w/ leather cover and anchoring strip
  • Wood oiled w/ Butcher Block oil
  • Brass screw details
  • Paint wells finished with latex paint
  • No paint is included in this product. Paints sold separately.

To care for your palette, we recommend leaving the leather cover open until the paints are dry. Occasionally, you can oil your wood palette with butcher block oil and use a good quality leather cleaner and conditioner on the leather.
